20 Storeys Down began as an independently produced comic series.
Every issue became a best seller on Amazon's digital comic platform, comiXology. A remarkable achievement when the direct competition is the might of Marvel and DC.
Issue 1 debuted in the Top 5 of the Indie sales chart.
Since then, the franchise has gathered over 100,000 fans on Facebook; an astonishing feat for an independent comic book series.
Through the television adaptation process the story developed and expanded beyond its comic book origins, however the tone, sense of mystery and historical accuracy created in the original comic remains our North Star.

Nick Tatman
creator & development
20 Storeys Down is something that came about in small pieces.
A guided tour of the Kremlin mentioned, in scant detail, the long-hidden library of Ivan the Terrible.
A night on the town when a friend mentioned that the River Fleet still flows in darkness and paved over beneath Fleet Street.
The Prison Room still maintained at the base of the Elizabeth Tower to hold rambunctious Members of Parliament removed from the Commons Chamber by the Sergeant at Arms under powers granted in 1415.
All these things caught my imagination and eventually became 20 Storeys Down. The only missing element was the exceptional talent to bring it to life… see below for how this dilemma was solved.
